Obverse description Central crowned quartered shield bearing the Danish arms of three passant lions within a beaded inner circle. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield within the broad outer ring, reading continuously around the coin. The crown above the shield is rendered in high relief with bold detailing characteristic of early 17th-century German hammered coinage. A mintmaster mark appears within the field.
