| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a large, elaborately quartered coat of arms of the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, supported on either side by wild men (woodwoses) and surmounted by multiple crested helms with mantling. The shield displays the heraldic arms of Brunswick (two leopards), Lüneburg (lion), and associated territories in a complex quartered arrangement. The surrounding circular legend reads FRIDERIC.VLRIC.D:G.DVX.BRVNS.ET.LV, identifying the issuing duke, rendered in Latin capital letters within a raised border. |
