Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick Louis, Count of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Virneburg, facing right, wearing a heavily curled long wig and armor with an elaborate lace cravat. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque tradition, with fine engraving detail on the drapery and breastplate. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRIED • LUD • S • R • I • COM • IN • LOEWENST • WERTH • ST •, abbreviating his full titles as Count of the Holy Roman Empire. The field is flat and unadorned, and the coin is bordered by a continuous reeded or toothed inner rim. The initials ST appear at the base of the bust, likely indicating the die engraver or mint official.
