The shield incorporates multiple quarters representing the margrave's numerous territorial claims, rendered with fine engraving detail. Below the shield, the mintmaster's initials C.L.R. and the date 55 (for 1755) appear within a cartouche. The surrounding legend ZEHEN EINE FEINE MARCK indicates the Conventions standard of ten thalers to the fine Cologne mark. |
