| Obverse description | Half-length armored effigy of Friedrich III facing slightly right, holding a sword raised over his right shoulder and an orb in his left hand. The figure is depicted in full plate armor with elaborate detailing. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy bearing the elector's titles. The portrait is rendered in the mannered Renaissance style typical of Rhenish Palatinate coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. |
