| Reverse description | The quartered coat of arms of Hesse-Cassel, incorporating the arms of Sweden, surmounted by a large open royal crown and set within an ornate baroque cartouche with scrolling mantling. The shield is supported on either side by a crowned rampant lion. The date 1733 appears in the lower field within the cartouche, and the mint name CASS· (for Cassel) is inscribed below. The encircling Latin legend HASSIAE LANDGR· runs around the upper periphery, bounded by a toothed inner border and a milled rim. |
