Obverse description Large crowned Spanish-style quartered shield bearing the manifold arms of the duchy, with a central escutcheon of ducal Saxony featuring the barry of ten with a diagonal stripe of crancelin. The mintmaster's initials flank the lower portion of the shield in the field, and the date appears above the crown. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery.
