Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Frederick August II, King of Saxony, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling hair. The portrait occupies the central field in a classical neoclassical style, with the truncation of the neck visible at the lower portion. A continuous circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading FRIEDRICH AUGUST V.G.G. KOENIG V. SACHSEN, separated by the mint mark at the base. The coin is bordered by a fine inner beaded rim.

Reverse description The central field displays the elaborately detailed royal arms of Saxony, a quartered shield bearing the traditional Saxon barry and rautenkranz (rue crown) diagonal, surmounted by the royal crown and flanked by richly draped mantling. The date is divided in two parts at the lower field, with the mint mark appearing between the numerals. The surrounding legend reads EIN THALER XIV EINE F. M., denoting the coin's denomination and fine silver standard, all enclosed within a beaded border.
