附加信息

Frederick August II held the Saxon electorate and, simultaneously, the Polish throne as Augustus III — a dual role that defined the political calculus behind his coinage. These thalers were struck during a period when Saxony was threading carefully between the Habsburg alliance and Prussian aggression; Frederick the Great's invasion of Silesia in 1740 reshaped the entire region's fiscal priorities almost immediately after this type entered production.

The Dresden and Leipzig mints both contributed output across this date range, and minor die variations between facilities are documented in the Schnee and Köhler references.
