The portrait is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque manner, occupying the full field of the coin. The encircling Latin legend reads FRANC • LUDOV • D • G • EP • WIRC • S • R • I • PR • FR • OR • DUX •, abbreviated from his full titles as Bishop of Würzburg and Duke of Franconia. The engraver's initials appear in small characters at the lower field beneath the bust. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The quartered arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg, incorporating the rakes of Franconia and the keys of Saint Peter, surmounted by a princely crown and flanked by the crossed crozier and sword as ecclesiastical and temporal insignia. The shield is supported by elaborate Baroque mantling and displayed within a richly detailed heraldic composition. The date 1779 appears in the field to the right of the arms, with the mint marks M and P visible in the lower field. The circumscribed legend 10 • EINE FEINE MARCK • indicates the Konventionstaler standard of ten coins to the fine Cologne mark of silver. |
