The portrait occupies the majority of the coin's field, with fine detail visible in the lace collar and episcopal robes. A beaded inner border frames the design. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRANC: ARNOLD: D: G: EP: MONAST: ET PAD:, abbreviated titles identifying the subject as Bishop of Münster and Paderborn by the grace of God. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central quartered coat of arms of the Bishopric of Münster combined with the personal arms of the Wolff-Metternich family, surmounted by a princely crown, flanked by elaborate Baroque cartouche scrollwork. The mint-master's initials WR appear in the lower field on either side of the shield. The date 1717 is positioned at the top of the legend within the circular inscription. The circumferential Latin legend, divided across the field, reads BVRGG: ST: S. R. I. PR: C. PYRMON: ET DOM: IN BORKEL:, with the motto PRO LEGE ET GREGE (For Law and the Flock) inscribed on a scroll at the base of the shield. A beaded inner border surrounds the entire composition. |
