Obverse description Central field displays the elaborately mantled arms of the Abbey of Corvey, surmounted by a mitre flanked by a processional cross and a crozier, all rendered in high relief with finely detailed baroque scrollwork and foliate cartouche work surrounding the shield. The coat of arms features a diagonal chevron on a plain field, characteristic of the Corvey abbatial arms. The circumferential legend reads FLORENTIUS D G ABBAS CORBEIENSIS S R I PRINC, identifying the issuing authority as Florenz von der Welden, Abbot of Corvey and Prince of the Holy Roman Empire. A small mintmaster's initial appears at the base of the design. The overall composition exemplifies the refined baroque engraving style prevalent in German ecclesiastical coinage of the early eighteenth century.
