| Obverse description | Armored bust of Ferrante II Gonzaga facing right, wearing a high ruff collar, with the date divided on either side of the effigy. The peripheral legend in Latin encircles the bust, and the mint official's monogram appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a robust late Renaissance style typical of northern Italian coinage of the early seventeenth century. |

| Reverse description | A crowned quartered heraldic shield bearing the four-fold arms of the Gonzaga-Guastalla dynasty, with a central escutcheon superimposed at the heart of the composition. Two small ornamental devices flank the shield on either side. The dynastic titles in Latin appear as a continuous circumferential legend around the armorial design. The overall composition is characteristic of the formal heraldic style prevalent on Italian Renaissance thalers. |
