Obverse description Half-length effigy of Ferdinand of Bavaria facing right, depicted with long hair and a beard, clad in an elaborate electoral ermine fur coat with a prominent ruff collar visible beneath. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the fur and drapery. A beaded inner border frames the portrait, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery between beaded borders. The inscription identifies Ferdinand as Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and Administrator of Hildesheim and Bishop of Paderborn.
