| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Ferdinand III facing right, wearing armour with an elaborate lace collar and the chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece; the emperor is depicted with a short beard and flowing hair beneath the laurel wreath. The date 1646 appears in the lower field below the bust, divided by its folds. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading FERDINANDVS III D G ROM IMP S A G HV BO REX, separated from the toothed border by an inner circle. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief Baroque style characteristic of the Graz mint. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Elaborately engraved multi-quartered imperial coat of arms, surmounted by a crowned imperial eagle displayed, the shield supported by ornate Baroque cartouche scrollwork and flanked by decorative foliage. The central escutcheon bears the numerous hereditary arms of the Habsburg territories including Austria, Burgundy, Castile, León, Bohemia, and Styria among others. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition reading ARCHI AVST DVX BVRG STYRIÆ ETc, with the date 1646 appearing at the top of the coin between the legend and the toothed outer border. The engraving displays the high craftsmanship typical of the Inner Austrian Graz mint during the mid-seventeenth century. |
