Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of Archduke Ferdinand II facing right, wearing a richly decorated cuirass ornamented with foliate tendril engravings and a large rounded square pauldron on the left shoulder. The Archduke is crowned and holds a narrow lily-topped scepter. The portrait is rendered in the Renaissance manner typical of Hall Mint coinage of the late sixteenth century.
