背面描述 The heraldic shield of Archduke Ferdinand II displaying the complex Spanish-Austrian quartered arms: first quarter of Hungary, second of Bohemia, third counter-quartered with Castile and Leon, fourth counter-quartered with Austria and Burgundy. The shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the pendant fleece cutting the lower legend. An escutcheon of the Tyrolean eagle is superimposed at the center of the main shield. The Latin legend DVX BVRGVNDI COMES TIROLI encircles the composition.

附加信息

Ferdinand II ruled Tyrol as an archduke from 1564 until his death in 1595, making the upper date of this issue a posthumous emission struck under his name — a common Habsburg practice when a popular ruler's coinage remained in demand. His court at Innsbruck was one of the most sophisticated in the Empire, and he invested heavily in the Haller Münze, the mint at Hall in Tirol that had been the primary silver coining facility for the region since the 15th century, benefiting directly from Tyrolean and Bohemian mine output.

Hall's thaler production during this period fed trade networks stretching into the Levant. The .875 fineness was a deliberate commercial standard.
