Obverse description Armored bust of Ferdinand I facing right, wearing a crown and elaborately decorated armor with pauldrons and gorget visible. The sovereign holds a scepter and orb as symbols of imperial authority. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Renaissance style typical of Bohemian thalers of the period. The legend encircles the bust along the beaded border, giving the ruler's titles in abbreviated Latin.
