正面描述 Central field occupied by a quartered heraldic shield displaying the arms of Holstein-Schaumburg-Pinneberg, divided into four quarters bearing alternating motifs of a mullet and pales, with a central inescutcheon. The shield is surmounted by an elaborate crest of three ornate helmets with mantling, the central helm bearing a prominent plume of ostrich feathers flanked by two winged supporters. The entire composition is framed by decorative acanthus scrollwork. The peripheral legend in Latin reads: ERNESTVS. D. G. HOL. S. E. S. C. D. G. 1612, identifying Ernest III as Count by the Grace of God, with the date 1612 incorporated into the legend.

背面描述 A spread imperial double-headed eagle displayed with wings outstretched, each head crowned and the two heads surmounted by a single ornate imperial crown at the apex. On the breast of the eagle is a circular orb bearing a cross, a symbol of Holy Roman imperial authority. The peripheral legend in Latin reads: RUDOL. II. D. G. ROMA. IMPER. SEMPER. AVG., invoking Emperor Rudolf II as Holy Roman Emperor and Ever August, affirming the overlordship of the Holy Roman Empire. The overall design follows the standard imperial eagle type common to German territorial thalers of the early seventeenth century.
