| Reverse description | A nine-line Latin funerary inscription occupying the central field, recording the Duke's birth on 25 December 1601, his death on 26 March 1675, his reign of 35 years, his age of 73 years 3 months and 1 day, and his interment on 4 June 1675. Surrounding the inscription are nineteen small shields of arms arranged around the periphery, with one larger crowned shield of the ducal arms of Saxony positioned prominently at the top. The overall composition is characteristic of German baroque memorial coinage of the late seventeenth century. |
