| Obverse description | Central field depicts Saint George on horseback in full armour, rearing to the right and thrusting a lance downward into a dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves, rendered in high relief in the late German Renaissance style. The date 1626 appears in the lower exergual area beneath the combatant group. A beaded inner border separates the central scene from the outer legend, which encircles the full periphery of the flan. The overall composition conveys vigorous movement and fine detail characteristic of early seventeenth-century Mansfeld coinage. |
