Obverse description Central field depicts Saint George in full armour astride a rearing horse, thrusting a lance downward toward a winged dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. The saint wears a plumed helmet and holds the lance with his right arm extended, his cape billowing behind him. A small orb-and-cross mintmark appears to the left of the horse's head. The entire central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin circumscription in the surrounding border.
