Obverse description Draped bust of Christian IV facing right, with long flowing curled wig rendered in fine detail. The effigy is unadorned save for the elaborate periwig, reflecting the baroque courtly style of mid-18th century German coinage. The circumferential legend reads CHRISTIAN IV · D: G · C · P · R · BAV · DUX, divided across the upper and right fields. The portrait is well-centered within a milled border, with ample flat field surrounding the bust.

Reverse description Crowned oval shield bearing the quartered arms of Palatinate-Birkenfeld-Zweibrücken, displaying the Bavarian lozengy and Palatinate lion among other dynastic quarterings, all enclosed within the chain of a chivalric Order and flanked by leafy laurel branches. The date is divided to either side of the crown at the top of the design. The fineness inscription 10 AUF EINE MARC FEIN curves along the lower field, separated by a small Maltese cross at the base. The composition is framed by a milled border consistent with contemporaneous south German thaler coinage.
