Reverse description The entire reverse field is occupied by a six-line Latin funerary inscription in bold capital letters, without any subsidiary design elements. The text reads PRO FIDE, / SVPRA FIDEM, / DEO ET CAESARI / MORS RAPVIT / NON DEFICIT / ALTER, meaning 'For faith beyond faith, to God and Emperor, death has taken him — another does not fail,' a motto commemorating the loyalty and virtues of the deceased Elector. The lettering is deeply struck in a plain field with a milled border visible at the rim.
