背面描述 The Hohenzollern eagle displayed within an oval shield, set upon a draped and ermine-lined electoral mantle surmounted by a royal crown. The mantle falls to either side, its corners held by tasselled cords. The date 1784 is divided by the lower folds of the mantle, with the mintmaster's initial S enclosed in a circle at the base and the letters W and R flanking it in the lower field. The circular German-language legend denoting the fineness standard runs along the upper border.

附加信息

Brandenburg-Ansbach had been bleeding financially for decades by 1784, and Margrave Alexander's decision to lease his territory — including its population — to Prussia the following year was already taking shape. This coin was struck just one year before he effectively sold the rights to govern 100,000 people to Frederick the Great's successor in exchange for a personal annuity, making it among the final issues of an independent Ansbach coinage.

Alexander died in 1806 with no legitimate heirs, ending the Hohenzollern-Ansbach line entirely.
