| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborately quartered arms of Solms-Laubach, surmounted by a comital crown, the shield flanked by two rampant lions serving as supporters, the whole set within an ornate Rococo cartouche with scrolling acanthus mantling. Circular legend surrounds the composition, reading CHRISTIAN AUGUST GRAF ZU SOLMS LAUBACH. Below the shield, in the lower segment of the legend, the fineness inscription WWE EINE FEINE MARCK appears, referencing the silver standard. The overall engraving style reflects the high Rococo decorative taste of the mid-eighteenth century German princely coinage. |
