| Obverse description | Armored bust of Margrave Karl Wilhelm Friedrich facing left, his long flowing curly wig rendered in fine baroque detail, the pauldrons and breastplate of his cuirass elaborately engraved with decorative beading and scrollwork. A sash crosses the chest diagonally. The encircling Latin legend is interrupted by dot stops and reads CAR: WILH: FRID: MARCH: BRAND: ON: V, identifying the ruler by name and title. The portrait is executed in high relief in the prevailing baroque court style, filling the field with commanding presence. |

| Reverse description | Large, elaborately mantled multi-quartered coat of arms of the Hohenzollern margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, surmounted by a princely crown with cross finial. The shield is divided into numerous quarters bearing the heraldic devices of the margraviate's constituent territories, including eagles, lions, and other charges, all rendered in fine detail. Flanking the shield are two supporters composed of billowing ermine-lined mantling. The circular Latin legend SALVS PVBLICA SALVS MEA appears around the upper field, and the date 17 29 is divided in the lower field below the shield. |
