Obverse description Crowned City of Cologne coat of arms at centre, displaying three crowns above and ermine base below, supported on the dexter side by a rampant lion and on the sinister side by a griffin, both facing inward. A foliate helmet crest surmounts the shield. Below the arms, a decorative cartouche bears the mintmaster's initials HK flanked by the names BURG. and FUES. The circumferential Latin legend reads along the upper field, with the date 1727 incorporated into the inscription.
