Obverse description Draped bust of Elector Charles Theodor facing right, portrayed with a long curled wig falling over his shoulders and wearing an elaborate lace cravat and armored mantle. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a Baroque style. The encircling Latin legend reads D:G·CAR·TH·C·P·R·S·R·I·A·T·&EL, denoting his titles as Count Palatine of the Rhine, Arch-Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The rim is ornamented with a fine milled border.

Reverse description Crowned baroque coat of arms of the Palatinate, quartered with the arms of Bavaria, Palatinate, Jülich, and Cleves, supported on either side by rampant lions. The shield is surmounted by a large electoral crown. The upper legend EX VISCERIBUS FODINÆ WILDBERG 1753 indicates the silver was mined from the Wildberg mine. The lower exergual inscription A· ·S FEIN SILB: denotes the fineness of the silver content. The whole composition is framed by a milled border.
