| Obverse description | Draped bust of Elector Charles Theodor facing right, portrayed with a long curled wig falling over his shoulders and wearing an elaborate lace cravat and armored mantle. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a Baroque style. The encircling Latin legend reads D:G·CAR·TH·C·P·R·S·R·I·A·T·&EL, denoting his titles as Count Palatine of the Rhine, Arch-Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The rim is ornamented with a fine milled border. |
