Reverse description Elaborately rendered threefold baroque coat of arms, centrally divided, displaying the arms of the Palatinate-Wittelsbach line including the Bavarian lozengy field and the Palatine lion, set within an ornate scrolling baroque cartouche. The shield is surmounted by a large electoral crown with cross finial. The date 1744 appears within the encircling legend to the left, with the Latin inscription ARCHITHESAVR • ET • ELECTOR • reading around the periphery, denoting Charles Theodore's offices of Imperial Arch-Treasurer and Prince-Elector. The mintmaster's initials WS appear on the obverse legend.
