Obverse description Armored draped bust of Charles I facing right, wearing a ruffled collar, set within a beaded inner circle. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the armor and collar. The circumferential legend in Latin runs around the outer field, reading CAROLVS D G DVX OPPAVIAE PRINCEPS.

Reverse description A crowned flat-topped heraldic shield bearing the coat of arms of the Duchy of Troppau occupies the central field, flanked by the mintmaster's initials B and H at the sides of the shield. The entire device is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential Latin legend running around the outer field and the date 1614 appearing at the conclusion of the inscription.
