Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing on its breast an oval shield quartering the arms of Bavaria and the Palatinate, with a central escutcheon of the imperial orb. An imperial crown surmounts the shield and divides the date at center. Two dependent chains of chivalric orders hang below the shield.
