| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborately rendered arms of the City of Rostock: a quartered shield displaying the city's griffin and cross devices, surmounted by an ornate crested helm with mantling in high relief. The crest features a radiating sun or torch motif issuing from a crown, flanked by scrolling acanthus-style mantling. The entire achievement is rendered in the richly decorative late Renaissance style characteristic of German civic coinage. A Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border, incorporating the commemorative date 2 FEB 1612, referencing the baptism occasion. |

| Reverse description | A displayed double-headed imperial eagle with spread wings fills the field, each head turned outward and surmounted by a single imperial crown above both. On the breast of the eagle rests a circular orb bearing a cross, the standard symbol of Holy Roman imperial authority. The eagle is rendered in bold relief with finely detailed feathering throughout the wings and body. A Latin circumscription legend runs within the beaded border, citing Emperor Rudolf II by name and his imperial titles. |
