Reverse description The reverse bears an entirely typographic design with no figural imagery, presenting a multi-line Latin funerary inscription filling the field. The text, rendered in Roman capital letters, commemorates the life and reign of Duke Anton Ulrich, describing him as a magnanimous, wise, clement, and liberal prince (PRINCEPS MAGNANIMUS SAPIENS CLEMENS LIBERALIS), recording his birth on 4 October 1633, his elevation to co-regent by his brother Rudolf August in 1685, his sole rule from 1704, and his death on 27 March 1714. The mintmaster's initials HCH appear at the base of the inscription, and the entire design is enclosed within a toothed border.
