| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Duke August II the Younger of Brunswick-Lüneburg facing right, wearing a lace collar and decorated breastplate with a prominent bow or order ornament at the chest. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the early Baroque style characteristic of early 17th-century German thalers. The bust is contained within a beaded inner circle, with a Latin legend running along the outer margin between the beaded border and a fine dentilated rim. |

| Reverse description | Elaborate quartered heraldic achievement of the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg occupying the central field, displaying multiple quarterings including lions, eagles, and barry fields representing the various territorial claims of the house of Welf. The shield is surmounted by a princely crown and topped by a helmet with a rampant lion crest amid baroque mantling. Two wild men or similar supporters flank the shield on either side. The dynastic motto ALLES • MIT BEDACHT • (All with deliberation) runs as a circular legend in the outer margin between beaded borders. |
