The date is divided by the arms and appears in the field to either side. A continuous Latin legend carrying the remainder of the elector's titles encircles the entire composition, separated from the heraldic design by a beaded border. The overall arrangement is typical of the large Saxon electoral thalers of the mid-sixteenth century, with carefully detailed heraldic devices. |
