Reverse description The reverse displays a twelve-fold coat of arms surmounted by three ornate helmets with elaborate crests, the central shield bearing the electoral arms of Saxony. The date is divided by the arms and appears in the field to either side. A continuous Latin legend carrying the remainder of the elector's titles encircles the entire composition, separated from the heraldic design by a beaded border. The overall arrangement is typical of the large Saxon electoral thalers of the mid-sixteenth century, with carefully detailed heraldic devices.
