| Obverse description | Elaborately mantled quartered coat of arms of Oldenburg, displaying the arms of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst divided by a central pale, supported by rich baroque strapwork and foliate mantling. Surmounting the shield are three ornate tournament helmets bearing elaborate crests, the central helmet topped by a cross and flanked by crested helms displaying a rampant lion and a plume respectively. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the memorial legend disposed in the surrounding field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears a nine-line funerary inscription in bold Roman capital letters filling the entire field, recording the birth and death dates of Anna Sophia, Countess of Oldenburg. The text is separated by pellet stops throughout and reads in German, commemorating her birth on 13 December 1579 and her peaceful passing on 11 June 1639. The legend is arranged in horizontal lines across the plain field without any border ornament other than the milled edge, giving the inscription a solemn and austere character appropriate to a memorial issue. |
