The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and armor ornamentation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading the ruler's full title and commemorating the occasion of his second marriage in the year 1730, expressed in Roman numerals MDCCXXX at the base of the inscription. |

Albert Wolfgang ruled Schaumburg-Lippe for over five decades, but the county's minting activity remained sparse throughout his reign — this 1730 thaler is among the few substantive silver issues attributable to his tenure. Schaumburg-Lippe was a tiny territory by any measure, and its coinage was produced in limited quantities, largely for ceremonial and prestige purposes rather than broad commercial circulation. Weinmeister 30 is well-documented but genuinely scarce in the secondary market.
