| Reverse description | The reverse features a central text panel with the Latin inscription SERVA NOS VIA PERIMVS arranged across four lines within an ornate cartouche, below which appears the date 1660 flanked by the mintmaster's initials C and B, with a crowned cipher in the center below the date. A cherub's or angel's head appears at the top of the inner field as decorative element above the text. The outer circular legend reads DE PROFUNDIS CLAMAMUS AD TE DOMINE, a scriptural quotation from Psalm 130, enclosed within a beaded border and toothed rim. The overall design reflects the deeply religious character of mid-17th-century Transylvanian coinage. |
