Obverse lettering 17 47 AF
Reverse description A raised inner circle frames the denomination expressed across three lines: the Roman numeral 'I' flanked by decorative asterisks at top, followed by 'TALER', then 'CURR.' and beneath it 'CH·I·', the latter denoting the mintmaster's initials. Surrounding the inner circle, a continuous outer legend reads 'MONETA AUREA MEGAPOL' (Golden coin of Mecklenburg), with a small rosette serving as a stop between the beginning and end of the legend. The fields are plain and the lettering is bold and well-struck in keeping with the high-relief style typical of German Baroque gold coinage.
