| 背面描述 | Crowned and mantled coat of arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg, supported on either side by rearing lions, the whole composition rendered in a Baroque heraldic style. The date 1760 is divided and placed in the lower field flanking the base of the shield, with the mint official's initials G.N. and P.B. separated by the Würzburg mint mark (W) appearing below. The circular Latin legend ZEHEN EINE FEINE MARK surrounds the design, indicating the coin's fineness standard of ten pieces to the fine Cologne Mark. |

Adam Frederick of Seinsheim held the unusual distinction of ruling two prince-bishoprics simultaneously — Würzburg from 1755 and Bamberg from 1757 — making him one of the more administratively powerful ecclesiastical princes in the Holy Roman Empire during the Seven Years' War. This thaler was struck in the thick of that conflict, a period when Franconian territories were repeatedly crossed by Prussian and Austrian forces and financial strain on the bishopric was considerable. Coinage of this period from Würzburg often served as much to assert jurisdictional authority as to facilitate trade.
