Obverse description Draped bust of Italia personified facing right, her elaborately coiffed hair adorned with a floral ornament and secured by a diadem, wearing a richly decorated mantle with lace trim at the neckline. The portrait is rendered in high relief in a Baroque-inspired style, engraved by Attilio Silvio Motti. The circular legend reads REGNUM ITALICUM flanking the bust, with the date 1918 to the lower right and the engraver's signature A • MOTTI beneath the truncation. Decorative rosette stops punctuate the legend at intervals.
