| Reverse description | Laureate and armored bust of Emperor Joseph II facing right, his hair arranged in long flowing curls with a laurel wreath. He is depicted in Roman-style armor with an ornate pauldron decorated with applied relief work, and a draped mantle over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered with fine sculptural detail in the Baroque tradition. The surrounding legend, divided by the bust, gives his imperial titles in abbreviated Latin. |
