| Obverse description | Central composition featuring three ornate oval shields arranged in a trefoil pattern on a decorative cartouche: the uppermost shield displays the Imperial double-headed eagle surmounted by a royal crown, the lower-left shield bears the Nuremberg civic eagle, and the lower-right shield depicts the Hohenzollern quartered arms. Flanking the central device are elaborate sprays of fruit and foliage. The mintmaster's initials GFN appear in the lower field between the two base shields. The date 1694 is inscribed in the upper field, and the circumferential Latin legend reads MONETA NOVA REIPUB NORIMBERGENSIS. |
