| Obverse description | Central design features an ornate cross pattée with elaborate foliate scrollwork at each terminal, at the centre of which is superimposed the crowned double-headed Imperial eagle of Frankfurt bearing a shield on its breast. The entire composition is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the circular legend reading MONETA NOVA REIPVB FRANCOFVRTENSIS around the periphery. The coin displays a milled edge visible at the rim. |
