Obverse description Central device depicting the spread eagle of Dortmund — a single-headed imperial eagle displayed with wings fully extended, rendered in the bold Germanic hammered style of the early seventeenth century. The eagle's talons grip foliate ornamental scrollwork at the base of the design, while fine feather detailing is visible across the wings and breast. The field is plain and unadorned save for the central device. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle, reading MONE NOV CIVIT IMP TREMONIENSIS with the date 1632, separated by pellets, all contained within a beaded inner border.
