Reverse description Central field bears a large, spread Imperial double-headed eagle with detailed feather engraving, wings outstretched and talons displayed, surmounted by a single Imperial crown above both heads. The eagle is rendered in the vigorous hammered style typical of Nuremberg workshop production under Ferdinand II. A rope-twist inner border separates the eagle from the encircling Latin legend, which names the reigning Holy Roman Emperor. The field is otherwise plain, concentrating visual emphasis on the heraldic bird as the symbol of Imperial authority.
