Obverse description Displayed double-headed imperial eagle with spread wings occupying the central field, the heads surmounted by a single crown. The eagle is rendered in fine detail with elaborately feathered wings and a decorative foliate element at the base. The circular legend is separated from the central design by a beaded inner border and a milled outer border.

The eagle's breast is unadorned, and elaborately feathered wings extend to the inner beaded border. The surrounding circular legend, separated by beaded borders, reads the imperial titulature of Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor. The date 1623 appears within the legend at the upper left.
